Permit to See began as a call to action in response to the ongoing crisis in Gaza. The project was developed by Chanel Alorsan and Jared Witherspoon—the duo behind Better Entry, a creative platform rooted in care, collaboration, and artist-led initiatives. Their partnership is guided by both intuition and intentionality, as they exchange concepts and support one another in transforming ideas into fully realized projects. When engaging other artists, they extend this same ethos, fostering a space for mutual contribution, exploration, and collective discovery.
This project reflects Better Entry’s artist-to-artist approach: reaching beyond their immediate circles to collaborate with others who share their values and creative vision—especially in moments that call for collective care and urgency. Against the backdrop of the Gaza–Israel conflict—one of the most pressing humanitarian crises of our time—and shaped by Chanel’s lived experience as a Palestinian-American, Permit to See emerged as a meaningful and tangible way to express solidarity and raise funds for children in Gaza, underscoring Better Entry’s commitment to engaging with social issues through art and community.
