Agit Karatas
Agit Karatas is a Kurdish rights activist, writer, and researcher. He holds a BSc in Politics & International Relations from the London School of Economics (LSE) and is currently pursuing an MSc in Human Rights and Politics at the LSE. His work focuses on the Kurdistan Freedom Movement, minority rights, internationalism, and archival research. Agit serves as Lead for Parliamentary & Political Affairs at the London-based Centre for Kurdish Progress, and has previously served as Representative for Foreign Affairs at the Kurdish People’s Democratic Assembly of Britain. In 2024, he served as the Secretariat for the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Kurds in the UK Parliament. He works closely with the UK trade union movement in Kurdish solidarity campaigns including the Freedom for Öcalan campaign. He is on X and Instagram at @AgitKaratas_.
