Holly Mason Badra

Holly Mason Badra is a queer, Kurdish American writer living in Northern Virginia. She is the curatorial editor of Sleeping in the Courtyard: Contemporary Kurdish Writers in Diaspora (The University of Arkansas Press, 2025). She is the associate director of Women and Gender Studies at George Mason University and a reader for Poetry Daily. Mason Badra serves as the board vice-president for Henar Press. Everything Is Political

The majority of us know that the personal is political, like it or not.

We the majority want, simply: Freedom. Freedom to be, do, say, worship, and love whoever, whatever and however we want. A Fair Deal. A Functioning Society. It’s not to much to demand.
