My name is Lauren (Loady) Stafford and I am a Black, queer, multi- disciplinary artist from Oakland, California. My artistic vision and practice is based around bold colors and eclectic compositions that are meant to evoke a sense of wonder and exploration of your inner child; an invitation to unmask and regard silly and play as important and law. My inspiration comes from the world around me- in the examination of the small things and the forgotten details of nuance. My work is rooted in exploring the interconnectedness of my multiplicitous self and history and what it means to be in full authorship of a narrative that is often misconstrued. Where storytelling is seen through the lens of sculpture and toys and texture and color.

Through the use of my adopted artist philosophy, HaveCooth, I am able to create and expand on the many meanings of what is art? Congratulating Others on their Humility (COOTH) is my way of being able to recognize the light in people while honoring my inner child.
