Samar Younes
Samar Younes is a Beirut-born hybrid artist and Cultural Futurist whose practice interrogates the intersectionsof identity, materiality, technology and power through multiple forms of intelligence. Through SAMARITUAL, her pluri-disciplinary NYC-based atelier, she challenges reductive binaries while transmuting imperfections into re-wilded visions of technology through her quantum craft methodology. Her work expands environments into vessels for both memory and speculation, questioning whose stories get told and how they might be reimagined through transcultural intelligence.
Through her contemporary exploration of craft, technology, and cultural storytelling manifesting in provocative artifacts, her IMAGINAOLGY future edu lab, quantum experiences and her role as mentor at NEW INC, the New Museum’s cultural incubator, she invites audiences to journey through landscapes where different forms of intelligence collaborate to craft more nuanced and radically vital futures. Her work functions simultaneously as cognitive catalyst and cultural provocation, challenging how we process identity, culture and knowledge exchange in our collective consciousness.
