Sanyu Nicolas

Sanyu Nicolas (b. December 21, 1987) is a Haitian American lesbian multimedia artist based in Brooklyn, NY. Theirwork explores themes of queer sensuality, chimeras, cosmic pressure, isolation, feminine rage, and nature through a lens of magic, erotica, pleasure and pain. Inspired by their childhood experiences during Lupus treatments, Sanyu’s creative practice combines vulnerability, fantasy, and raw emotion. A BFA graduate from Temple University, their art has been featured in such publications as OUT, i-D VICE, Bustle, Playboy, and Resident Advisor.
