Everything is Political.
And everything needs to change.

What is considered political, and what is considered normalized, accepted? This is where the most fundamental and intense struggle for our collective future is being waged. In the mass media, the political theater, the court of public opinion, the window of what is “acceptable” is being deliberately shifted away from principles of human rights, climate justice and environmental stewardship, towards racism to the point of actual genocide, towards normalizing extreme corporate rule at the cost of all sense of universal human rights, and is bringing us towards climate collapse. These are the stakes.

Everything that is harmful to people and planet is only allowed to happen because there is a culture that allows it. There is a culture that normalizes the most intense human suffering of certain people, for the benefit of others. Culture: the stories we tell ourselves in order to justify bombing entire populations, polluting our waters and air, and when people complain, speak up or contest, we call them political. We shun them into silence, and demand they remain obedient.

And that is why there must be a counter-culture against this exploitative, oppressive culture. There must be a strategic, concerted movement to normalize the “radical” principles of basic human rights for all, climate justice, environmental stewardship and embracing cultures and practices of Indigenous communities and the Global South. Because no matter who you are, what you do, what you say, you participate in cultures you may disagree with—but speaking up might be forbidden, or risking to jeopardize your wellbeing. That’s why we exist, we collectively will speak up on your behalf, and make sure our speaking doesn’t end there. The influence of the culture we have created is palpable and quite frankly necessary for our collective survival. We represent all those whose simple existence is political.

For us, Everything is Political.
